Lambie not fit for Sharks’ Super Rugby semi

August 22nd, 2012

Backs Paul Jordaan and Patrick Lambie failed fitness tests to allow Meyer Bosman into the midfield in the Sharks’ only change on Wednesday for their Super 15 rugby semifinal against the Stormers this weekend.

Bosman joins Tim Whitehead in the centres for Saturday’s match at Cape Town.

Jordaan scored a try to help knock out defending champion Queensland 30-17 in Brisbane last weekend, but a hamstring injury has cost him any chance this week.

Lambie, the Springboks flyhalf and Sharks leading point-scorer this year, hasn’t played in a month because of an ankle complaint.

Sharks: Louis Ludik, JP Pietersen, Tim Whitehead, Meyer Bosman, Lwazi Mvovo, Frederic Michalak, Charl McLeod, Ryan Kankowski, Marcell Coetzee, Keegan Daniel (captain), Anton Bresler, Willem Alberts, Jannie du Plessis, Bismarck du Plessis, Tendai Mtawarira. Reserves: Craig Burden, Wiehahn Herbst, Steven Sykes, Jean Deysel, Jacques Botes, Odwa Ndungane, Riaan Viljoen.
