Arrest of 13 drivers

December 23rd, 2011

THIRTEEN people have been arrested as police continue their blitz on drink drivers.

Police made the arrests during the second week of the annual Christmas crackdown.

Of those arrested in the last seven days, three have been charged and are now facing a possible driving ban.

Inspector Jason Keates, of the Constabulary’s Road Policing Unit, said: “There has only been one fewer arrest than the first week so we need more people to get the message.

“If you are arrested for drink-driving, Christmas is going to a less happy occasion this year.

“You are also at risk of losing your driving licence, and potentially face losing your job, a relationship breakdown and the humiliation of people knowing that you have committed a crime. Most importantly, you are putting others at risk of being seriously injured or even killed by your actions.”

Nicholas Pardoe, 23, of Elgim Close, Stourbridge, Paul Fleet, 33, of Elms Road, Clapton in London, and mark Tyler, 44, of Linden Road, Gloucester, have all been charged and face driving bans.
