Amy Childs lands her own show

October 11th, 2011

The Only Way is Essex star Amy Childs, who quit the ITV2 show to appear in Celebrity big Brother, has landed her own show on Channel 5.

It’s All about Amy promises an “intimate and revealing look” at the “extraordinary life” of Britain’s “best-loved Essex girl”.

She certainly appears loved by Channel 5, who recruited her for Celebrity big Brother. She finished fourth, behind Kerry Katona, Jedward and the show’s eventual winner, Paddy Doherty.

Childs, who is credited with inventing the “vajazzle”, said the new eight-part series would be “great because people will see the real me”.

Beginning on Channel 5 in December, It’s All about Amy will follow her on a “series of new adventures, the most important being the opening of her very own beauty salon”.

Channel 5’s director of programmes, Jeff Ford, said: “We’re delighted to be following Amy as she embarks on the next, exciting stage of her life. She’s one of the most talked about women in Britain and we’re sure our viewers will take the bubbly bombshell to their hearts.”
